The Online Retail Radar · Edition 07 · July 2026

Selling worldwide.
Speaking one language.

We read hundreds of storefronts the way an AI shopping assistant would. In July, just under a third served more than one language, and English still ran all but a rounding error of the shelves. Fewer than four in ten even told a machine which currency they price in.

965 brands monitored 841 storefronts analyzed July 2026 100% anonymized

01 Global reach speaking the customer's language

English runs the shelves. Everything else is a rounding error.

Read this as an AI-readiness signal, not market share. Sites that localize price by region often expose only their base currency, so the euro is undercounted here. Currencies under 10 brands are suppressed for anonymity.

The takeaway: reach is a presentation problem, not an ambition problem. Just over two-thirds of stores still speak a single language to the world, and nearly two-thirds never state their currency in structured data. AI that cannot read your language or your price cannot recommend you.

02 Assortment catalogs never sit still

In one month, the shelves moved, and mostly outward.

Every product added and pulled across monitored stores in July, measured only over brands that actually changed each area. 89 brands changed catalog size

Add more than two products for every one pulled and you get the shape of July: a market expanding its shelves and quietly editing what did not sell. The stores standing still are the ones falling behind.

Tops lead every rack. Womenswear anchors the market, but a majority of brands now also cut for men and for no gender at all.
